Read more about Garden Designer Jo Baker and her design ethos.
My route into garden design was through establishing a garden maintenance business, and by qualifying in garden design from Writtle College in Essex. I believe that the longevity of any garden design is secured in good garden maintenance practice and knowing how plants will perform.
My journey began through an interest in the use of plants and by creating vegetable gardens for various clients and businesses. Edibles are a multi functional group of plants. Other than their most obvious function; food production, edibles have the potential to get people really excited about gardening. Kitchen gardens help to build communities and provide some of the most ornamental and architectural schemes that are not only good for people and pollinators, but also increase bio diversity.
With an early background education in fine art and sculpture, my gardens are characterised by strong form, high functionality and exciting planting schemes that are in harmony with the surrounding environment and reflective of the clients individuality.
My mission is to provide you with your dream garden. I am involved in every part of the design process, from the initial consultation meeting with you to overseeing the build, ensuring that your garden is finished to an exceptionally high standard.
